God has been really very kind to me last semester to let me begin my semester with a blast. Thanks to Vanessa I get to experience taking hot air balloon for once after missing an opportunity in Brisbane. Although it is pretty pricey, the experience is worth every dollar spent.
Thank you Lord for the good weather that in one attempt we managed to board the hot air balloon. According to Vanessa she failed to board the hot air balloon on two attempts due to bad weather. For people who are not used to Melbourne weather, it can get very very windy on some days and it is not safe to go on a hot air balloon just in case we get blown too far away or get stuck in the valleys.
After the entire flight, you may fill you bellies with a nice glass of champagne from Rochford's winery and breakfast. While waiting for your mains, you may fill your bowls with cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruits which are included in the package. There are juices, milk, coffee and tea as well.
On top of everything else, you get to take part in the champagne popping ceremony and the flight conductor (or whoever you call) will present you a certificate of participation for remembrance.
Although it is early autumn, the sun rises really early so we had to wake up early to catch a cab to the nearest hotel. For those living in the city I guess you can arrange a pick up at Swanston Grand Mercure or other hotels along the way - that's the nearest for me a few streets down from the apartment I used to live. You may call and check and avoid the mistake Vanessa and I made, we had to call cab to some other hotel at wee hours in the morning and were exhausted after the entire experience hahas.
Anyone planning to visit Melbourne and willing to spend I strongly recommend undertaking the hot air balloon experience with Global Ballooning. They are really professional and have great service.
