Melba - Jessie & Vanessa's 21st birthday celebration!

Blessed 21st birthday to my two awesome friends - Jessie & Vanessa <3

I am so glad that I was invited to join them for dinner to celebrate their birthdays. It's always nice to hang out with friends for a good chillax session and dinner before hitting the books for exams again. Yes :( I don't like studying but what to do? Sometimes I feel pretty guilty spending so much on food, but I guess it is worth it since I don't spend my money elsewhere teehee. Excuses, I know right! ><

In case you are wondering, 'atas' is Singlish for 'high class' :D

Seafood! My favorite! It's a pity they aren't that fresh so no thanks to my usual second helping.
I love the Peking duck wrap!

sambal prawns, it is surprisingly tasty for a Chinese dish in a western country. pleasantly surprised :)
stir-fried kang kong
Cheese garlic naan is soo soo good. I know it is retarded to describe food as good hahahas looks like I need to start beefing my vocabulary base. The tandoori chicken is pretty spicy though - couldn't finish ><

Shall put a padlock when I visit this place with my partner in December <3
Mini compilation summary to end the post.

All the best for exams girls! Gambatte!

Code Black Coffee / Green Refectory

It is the beginning of SWOT Vacation and we are feeling a little lazy.
Perfect sunny Saturday for Brunch at Brunswick with the girls, not to mention a little shopping at Kmart nearby to relax from the tension from my crazy pile of assignments :)
Code Black Coffee
15-17 Weston Street
Brunswick 3056

Banana smoothie - you can taste a tinge of cinnamon in it. I love cinnamon so it is perfect for me and not to mention really filling .
Poached egg, rosti, bacon and green peas - best green peas I ever had so far!
Personally, I really hate green peas partly because they are generally soggy especially the frozen ones but this is so good. Tastes a little like chickpeas which was a pleasant surprise for me.
 close up
Scrambled eggs and bacon with sour dough and avocado

The ground their own coffee, according to my friends they said the skinny latte is worth a try.

Green Refractory
115 Sydney Rd
BrunswickVIC 03056

Look at the range of desserts they have. Just so mouth-watering! A HUGE slice of strawberry spongecake cost only AUD 4.50, where can you get that in the city!

Wooga / Jiu Fen Tian Pin

What is the best way to celebrate end of a semester and beginning of SWOT Vacation?
GOOD FOOD! Yes, you saw that!
Apparently good food is our only source of motivation to give our best, bite the bullet and complete all our assignments. In case you are wondering what's so tough, we have been dapao-ing our groupmates work because they are sub-standard. Forgive my slang, it means redoing all the project on our own :'(
I really hate it when I get selfish groupmates - welcome to the world and face it, social loafers are EVERYWHERE literally...

Forget about those nonsense and focus on food foodies! :)
Wooga
270 Victoria St, North Melbourne VIC 3051
(Directly opposite Queen Victoria Market)
 side dishes
 BBQ pork belly
Spicy Kimchi and Pork Soup

The serving portion for the BBQ meat is really small 3 pieces of pork belly is
2 person's serving so you can gauge for yourself how much to order.
Korean food in Melbourne city tends to be a little bit more pricey so expect to spend almost AUD 20 per main or portion of meat.

Mains do not come with rice so you have to get it separately.

 Jiu Fen Tian Pin
You can find it along Swanston street  towards Bourke street (Chinatown)
warm grass jelly and soybean curd with pearls

We wanted to chill while planning our saturdate - brunch so here we are... It is kinda hard to find places with good traditional desserts here and yes, they are pricey. I am pretty sure I can get them less than half the price back home, but heck that - comfort food is priority :)

Check out next post for yummilicious brunch at Brunswick <3
